I went to the Lowry art gallery this morning (Sunday 2nd May 2010) and waited in a que from 12:30am - 3:30am to go through the final registration for Spencer Tunicks 'Everyday People' installation. Me and my friend Bob off the graphics course both took part, and it was absolutely amazing! We went to 4 different locations around Manchester.

1st Location: Castlefield, next to the canal with barges in the background.
2nd Location: The Lowry Art Gallery, in front of the well known sculpture outside the gallery.
3rd Location: Conchord, at Manchester Airport.
4th Location: The Gasworks near Manchester City Stadium.
After the 4th shoot at the Gasworks, Spencer wanted all the women volunteers to get onto two double decker buses next to each other and press our bodies up against the windows! Once we had done that, we heard Spencer shout in the megaphone 'NOW.....TURN AROUND!' So we all then turned around and stood on the seats and pressed our bums up agains the windows of the busses! This last shoot was my favourite because it was all the girls, and we all had such a laugh doing it!
The whole experience was incredible, i did this to boost my confidence and to be part of an installation of this size. The whole installation is inspired by L.S Lowry and is a tribute to his art work, The Lowry Gallery invited Spencer over to do this shoot which he gladly accepted to do!
This particular shot was taken on the sunday at the Lowry Gallery location - I think I can see myself! But I can't be too sure!

The press were at the Saturday shoot, bit not the Sunday one. I'm quite annoyed about that because one of the main reasons why I wanted to do an interview for the papers was to just briefly mention my End Of Year show. But no one was there, and we were told that they had come to the saturday one, but not the sunday one. So that was my idea out of the window! But I'm glad I still did it, just for the confidence boost and the experience!
Here are a couple of shots from the saturday shoot just to give the idea of the sense of community that everybody experienced, this is not the group that I was with, but it shows the same kind of poses that I went through the next day.

The exhibition for this installation will be shown from 12th June-26th September at The Lowry Art Gallery!
